Down By The River

At dusk, I sat upon the bank,
To watch the river flow,
While evening light fades in the west,
With golden colored glow.

T'was there I felt so all alone,
And felt no love for me,
But then recalled my sinful life,
I now began to see.

There in the fading light of day,
A new light grew inside,
For in my heart I felt a love,
That with me, would abide.

And though confessing many things,
So hard to say and hear,
Somehow I knew this boundless love,
Would calm my greatest fear.

My Lord, and Savior I have found,
Down by the river's flow,
For now I'm free of all my sins,
It's true, He Lives, I know!
