With twinkling lights that brighten eaves
And colored objects on the trees,
We celebrate this time of year,
While families all gather near.
And giving is the thing to do,
Some cookies or a pot of stew,
Perhaps a package wrapped with care
May be some things we think to share.
But all the things we think to give
Including how we choose to live,
Are really only samples of,
Our most important gift, our love.
And so this gift I give to you,
And pray that you will share it too;
It is the love that Jesus gives,
And knowledge that He really lives.
