What do we do, with Halloween candy,
When Halloween’s come and gone?
They sit in their bowls, looking quite dandy,
But eating, we know would be wrong.
So there it resides, those sugary “yummies”
So tempting and hard to resist,
And then one-by-one, they end in our tummies
Right down to the last, none are missed.
Oh well, next year, we’ll try to do better;
We’ll try not to yield to the call.
We’ll give it all out and be a trend-setter,
Except for that bag, down the hall.
Who am I kidding, it’s we who are weak,
We’ll always hope some will remain;
So let’s earn our treat with the words that we speak,
“Trick-or-treat”, yup it’s working again.
